J’ai été sollicité à plusieurs reprises pour participer à des expositions thématiques et collectives. Les contraintes imposées dans ce cadre me poussent assez naturellement à faire des installations, à mettre en scène mes encres, chose assez nouvelle pour moi. Cela marqua un jalon dans la façon de penser mon travail.
I’ve been asked on several occasions to take part in themed and group exhibitions. The constraints imposed by these exhibitions naturally led me to create installations and stage my inks, something quite new for me. This marked a milestone in the way I thought about my work.
In diverse occasioni mi è stato chiesto di partecipare a mostre tematiche e collettive. I vincoli imposti da queste mostre mi hanno portato naturalmente a creare installazioni e a mettere in scena i miei inchiostri, cosa del tutto nuova per me. Questo ha segnato una pietra miliare nel modo di concepire il mio lavoro.
Cette installation sous la forme d’une table fut réalisée à l’occasion d’une exposition collective en 2017, dont le premier lieu d’exposition était l’espace Michel Frérot à Thaon (14), sur le thème des femmes illustres. Chaque participant devait choisir “sa” femme illustre. J’ai choisi Simone Schwarz-Bart, qui a écrit Pluie et vent sur Télumée Miracle qui, encore aujourd’hui est considéré comme un chef-d’œuvre de la littérature caribéenne, et surtout en 1979 Ti jean l’horizon, qui fut pour moi un texte déterminant dans mon approche poétique de la vie.
This installation in the form of a table was created for a group exhibition in 2017, the first venue for which was the Espace Michel Frérot in Thaon (14), on the theme of illustrious women. Each participant had to choose ‘their’ illustrious woman. I chose Simone Schwarz-Bart, who wrote Pluie et vent sur Télumée Miracle (Rain and Wind on Télumée Miracle), which is still regarded as a masterpiece of Caribbean literature, and above all Ti jean l’horizon (1979), which was for me a determining text in my poetic approach to life.
Questa installazione a forma di tavolo è stata creata per una mostra collettiva del 2017, la cui prima sede è stata l’Espace Michel Frérot di Thaon (14), sul tema delle donne illustri. Ogni partecipante doveva scegliere la “sua” donna illustre. Io ho scelto Simone Schwarz-Bart, che ha scritto Pluie et vent sur Télumée Miracle (Pioggia e vento su Télumée Miracle), tuttora considerato un capolavoro della letteratura caraibica, e soprattutto Ti jean l’horizon (1979), che è stato per me un testo determinante nel mio approccio poetico alla vita.

This installation in the form of a false grimoire was created for a group exhibition in 2016 at the Medusa gallery in Bayeux (14) on the theme of the Bayeux Manuscript.

Cette installation sous la forme d’une table basse fut réalisée à l’occasion d’une exposition collective en 2015 à l’Usine Utopik de Tessy/Vire (50) sur le thème de la guerre 14-18. J’ai déposé sur un lit de cendre les images fantomatiques des poilus de la guerre, métaphore de ce qu’il reste de cette aventure “inhumaine” et inutile.
This installation in the form of a coffee table was created for a group exhibition in 2015 at the Usine Utopik in Tessy/Vire (50) on the theme of the 14-18 war. On a bed of ashes, I placed ghostly images of those who fought in the war, a metaphor for what remains of this ‘inhuman’ and pointless adventure.

Su un letto di cenere, ho collocato immagini fantasma di coloro che hanno combattuto in guerra, metafora di ciò che resta di questa avventura “disumana” e inutile.
